It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. Stag Cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island lying at the foot of Appuldurcome Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants as well as two public houses.

It is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care. It has 3 bedrooms - a double, a twin and a bunk bedroom plus a bathroom with bath, built in shower basin and w.c. A short way inland on the East side of the Isle of Wight is the little village of Godshill. Known for the historic centre of thatched cottages and small shops selling gifts, the village of Godshill is a popular destination for visitors to the Isle of Wight. The majority of the shops sell a range of little gifts but some offer genuine local products including locally made food and drink in gift packs.

An occasional market in the car park of the Cask & Tavernier’s gives one the chance to buy local art work, photographs, and cheese. Just outside the central high street is Godshill’s historic church and around it are clustered picturesque thatched cottages.

A range of 'nobbly' chocolate bars bursting with whole nuts or chunks of fruit are visually stunning and very popular.

Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and Lovely Family Day Out

The IOW Donkey sanctuary is a registered charity rescuing donkeys in need. Over 80 donkeys enjoy a happy and secure home in 50 acres.

Visitors can join the "Adopt a Donkey" scheme, make donations and purchase from the gift shop. Open from Easter until the end of October. Free car park. Free admission.
